Building on the success of the Masterclass on Environmental Journalism, Storytelling, and Education, the Masterclass Alumni Program was designed to take the journey of its graduates to the next level. Recognizing the importance of continued support and practical experience, the Ecofriendly Africa Initiative (EFAI) launched this program to provide alumni with hands-on training, resources, and a platform to amplify their impact in the fight against climate change.
The Masterclass Alumni Program focuses on equipping graduates with advanced skills to refine their craft and expand their reach. Through workshops, mentorship sessions, and real-world projects, participants gain invaluable experience in climate storytelling, investigative journalism, and community-focused reporting. This initiative empowers them to bring untold stories to light, highlighting the struggles and triumphs of communities on the frontlines of climate change.
One of the key components of the program is the provision of seed grants to support alumni in their storytelling efforts. These grants enable participants to pursue impactful projects, whether it’s documenting the effects of rising sea levels in coastal regions, shedding light on sustainable farming practices in rural communities, or capturing the resilience of climate heroes through compelling narratives. With this financial backing, alumni can overcome barriers that often limit their ability to bring critical climate issues to global attention.
